Taking kids/ students to the museum?

We offer events for children from the age of 5 years upwards. Offers and events that might suit can be found in the "Education" section. We offer events for kindergarten and pre-schools / primary- and special schools / secondary schools, high schools and professional schools.

Registration is necessary. The contact person for the individual events can be found in the description of the offers.

Through the authenticity the objects in our museum have, it is a fascinating out-of-school learning experience. In nearly all of the event offers, there is a syllabus reference described. Our events can be an interesting addition to the lessons in school. We suggest to prepare and to evaluate the visit to the museum in class.

During school vacations, educational events can also be booked for individual children. More information on this can be found in our vacation programmes in the education section.

Children and adolescents have free entrance to the museum until the completion of their 18th year. Guides and events are free for educational institutions. For creative offers though, there will be a small charge for the material costs.

Do you have special needs? Handicapped accessibility to the museum ensured!

Our museum is wheelchair accessible. The visitors can take the elevator to the first floor of the Tietz and have full wheelchair accessibility in the entire exhibition space. You are also invited to visit our exhibitions with a baby carriage.

A bathroom for handicapped people and a wrap space for babies can be found on the ground floor of the Tietz. You can receive the key at the museum's cash register.

Our museum’s pedagogue Mrs. Ehle also conducts events for participants with special needs. Please ask for it.

Can I take my dog to the museum?

For the safety of the animals and the exhibits, it is not allowed to take your pets to the museum. Guide dogs are permitted of course.

Where can I find details on tariffs for the entry?

The entry fees and other usage fees are being decided by the Chemnitz city council. The individual costs can be viewed in the document about fees and charges of the Museum für Naturkunde.
