Lecture by Marian Timpe, Rostock
From the Petrified Forest of Cairo in eastern Egypt, to an impressive fossil forest graveyard in Wadi El Hitan/Egypt, the fossilized trees of the Nubian Sandstone in the northern Sahara, vertebrate remains including dinosaur fossils in the famous Cretaceous Kem-Kem Beds in eastern Morocco, rich Paleozoic fossil finds around Erfoud/Morocco, all the way to copper-mineralized fossil tree trunks in the High Atlas—this is the route of geologist Marian Timpe’s paleobotanical journey through North Africa.
